Security Risk Management and Physical Access Control

Physical security is bought as guards, cameras and a boom gate, and defeated by a delivery driver who was waved through because the queue was long. This course covers designing security that survives normal operations. Delegates work through threat and risk assessment for the site and what it actually holds, layered protection from perimeter through building to asset, and access control including credential management and the tailgating that defeats it. Guarding is covered as a contracted service with instructions, supervision and the post orders that determine what a guard actually does. Surveillance is addressed honestly, including what cameras do and do not achieve without monitoring. Screening, deliveries and contractor access follow. Incident response and investigation are covered. The course closes on insider risk and on testing the arrangements rather than assuming them.
