Tax and LegalRegulatory Compliance and Licensing Across African Markets
Expanding across African markets means meeting requirements that differ by country, change without much notice, and are sometimes administered differently from how they are written. This course covers operating in that environment. Delegates work through market entry structures and the licensing each triggers, and building a country by country obligation register rather than assuming one jurisdiction resembles another. Sector licensing is addressed for the regulated industries where most of the difficulty sits. Local content, ownership and employment requirements are covered, since these often determine whether an entry is viable. Exchange control, repatriation of profit and central bank approvals follow. Data protection obligations, now in force across much of the continent, are addressed. Regional frameworks and free trade arrangements are covered on what they change in practice. The course closes on maintaining licences, on renewal calendars and on managing a regulator relationship in each market.
