Programme Management for Donor Funded Development Projects

Development and donor-funded programmes carry reporting, compliance and results-measurement obligations that differ substantially from commercial programme management, and this course is built specifically around that context. Participants work through logical framework design, results-based monitoring and donor compliance requirements, drawing on examples from health, agriculture and infrastructure programmes funded by multilateral and bilateral partners active across the region.

Course objectives

  • Build a logical framework or theory of change linking activities to outcomes and impact
  • Design a results-based monitoring and evaluation system that satisfies donor reporting requirements
  • Manage multi-donor funding arrangements and disbursement conditions across a programme
  • Apply fiduciary and procurement compliance requirements specific to donor-funded activity
  • Prepare donor narrative and financial reports that withstand audit and verification

Who should attend

  • Programme managers in NGOs and development organisations
  • Monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning specialists
  • Government officials managing donor-funded programmes
