Procurement and MaterialsProcurement Integrity, Ethics and Anti Corruption
Procurement is where an organisation's money meets people who want it, which makes it the function most exposed to corruption and the one where a single relationship can cost more than a year of savings. This course covers the exposure. Delegates work through the schemes that actually occur, collusive bidding, bid rigging, kickbacks, conflicts of interest and the specification written around one supplier, and the conditions in a process that make each possible. Gifts, hospitality and the point at which they stop being courtesy are addressed directly. Declaration and management of conflicts follow. Detection through data and pattern analysis is covered. Reporting, protection for the person who reports, and investigation are addressed. The course closes on designing a process where these schemes are hard to run.
