Maintenance ManagementPlanned Shutdown and Turnaround Management
A turnaround compresses a year of maintenance into a few weeks using a workforce that is largely unfamiliar with the plant, and the outcome is decided months earlier by whether the scope was frozen. This course follows that sequence. Delegates work through scope development and challenge, the freeze date and the discipline of refusing late additions, and worklist ranking against the shutdown's purpose. Planning and scheduling at turnaround density follow, including critical path and resource levelling across trades. Contractor strategy, mobilisation and site readiness are covered. Execution is addressed: daily control, progress measurement that is not optimistic, and the discovery work that always arrives. Safety at high manning density is covered. The course closes on start up, on close out and on the cost and duration report that informs the next one.
