Risk, Compliance and AMLOperational Risk Management in Practice
Operational failures, from system outages to fraud and process breakdowns, are among the most frequent and costly risk events organisations face, and unlike credit or market risk they are generated by the organisation's own activity. This course covers managing them. Delegates work through the operational risk taxonomy and categorising events consistently, risk and control self assessment run so that business units engage rather than perform, and loss data collection including the near misses and the losses absorbed in operating budgets without ever being recorded. Key indicators and scenario analysis for events too rare to have data follow. Control design and cost proportionate to exposure are covered. The course closes on reporting, on capital and provisioning where relevant, and on acting after an event.
