Engineering and TechnicalMaintenance and Reliability Practices
Maintenance organisations are judged on cost and availability, which pull against each other, and the practices that improve both at once are a defined body of knowledge rather than a matter of experience alone. This course covers that body of knowledge. Delegates work through maintenance strategy and the mix of reactive, preventive, predictive and improvement work an asset base warrants, reliability concepts including failure patterns and why most equipment does not wear out on a schedule, and work management from identification through planning and scheduling to execution and close out. Asset performance measurement follows. Materials, spares and the interface with stores are covered. Defect elimination and continuous improvement are addressed. The course closes on maintenance organisation, competence and the case for changing how the function works.
