
LaboratoryISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory Quality Management Systems
Testing and calibration laboratories across the region are under growing pressure to demonstrate technical competence through accreditation, not just certification. This course walks participants through building and operating a management system aligned to ISO/IEC 17025:2017, including risk based thinking, method validation, and measurement uncertainty. Case examples are drawn from national accreditation bodies operating under the SADC and AFRAC frameworks.
Course objectives
- Interpret the structural, general, resource, process, and management system requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017
- Develop a quality manual and supporting procedures suited to the laboratory's scope of testing
- Apply risk based thinking to laboratory processes and decision rules
- Estimate and report measurement uncertainty for common test methods
