This course starts from the operational question. Delegates work through sensing and data collection across loops, cameras and probe data, and what each is good for. Traffic signal control and adaptive systems follow, including the conditions under which they help. Traveller information and its effect on behaviour is covered. Public transport priority, fleet management and fare systems are addressed. Enforcement, tolling and the institutional arrangements each requires follow. Data platforms, integration and open standards are covered. The course closes on procurement, on operations and maintenance after the vendor leaves, and on the projects worth doing in a constrained budget.
