A cold chain fails at its handovers rather than in transit, and in this region the handovers include a border post, a power interruption and a vehicle that has been waiting in the sun. This course works from those conditions. Delegates work through product requirements and why a temperature range is not a single number, packaging and thermal protection matched to the journey, and pre cooling, since a warm load never recovers. Refrigerated transport is covered, including equipment selection, loading practice and the airflow that decides whether the setpoint means anything. Temperature monitoring, data loggers and excursion investigation follow. Warehousing, cross docking and dwell time are addressed. Regulatory and customer requirements including pharmaceutical good distribution practice are covered. The course closes on route and contingency planning for power and border delay, and on measuring cold chain performance honestly.
