Asset integrity is the discipline that keeps pressure equipment, pipework and structures containing what they hold, and it fails slowly enough that a plant can be degrading for years while every report says it is fine. This course covers managing it. Delegates work through the integrity management framework and the safety critical equipment it covers, damage mechanisms by service and the degradation each produces, and inspection strategy including risk based intervals. Performance standards for safety critical elements are covered, since an element without a standard cannot be verified. Anomaly management follows: recording, assessing and closing out defects rather than accumulating them. Fitness for service and temporary repair are addressed. The course closes on integrity operating windows and on the backlog that quietly becomes the real condition of the plant.
